Ways You Can Workout At Home

Writer: Cynthia MobleyCynthia Mobley

In recent events, the entire world has had to sacrifice its normal routine by staying home more than they’re use to. Schools, salons, barbershops, spas, movie theaters, and even gyms have all closed forcing us to change the way we live our daily lives.

Despite the difficulties that we all are facing it is essential that we stay on track with our fitness journey and continue to maintain a healthy lifestyle. One way we can do this is to continue our workouts right in the comfort of our own home.

While this may be easy for those who have private gyms in their home, it may be a little more difficult for others who have little to no equipment. So, here I’m sharing what I do when I workout at home.

TRX

TRX stands for Total Body Resistance Exercise and is a workout method that uses your body weight and gravity as resistance to build strength, balance, coordination, flexibility, core and joint stability. It is my absolute favorite workout and is a great way to workout at home. Benefits of TRX: Why I love TRX gives a great account of all the benefits of TRX. TRX provides a hardcore, full-body, effective and impactful workout with a single piece of equipment. TRX is currently offering the TRX app for FREE for 3 months. It has a number of TRX workouts and programs that will get you through your workouts at home.

Online Workouts

The internet has made it possible to do almost anything, including working out right at home. There are a wide variety of ways to stream or download workouts online, from YouTube to specific fitness providers, that allow you to stream thousands of fitness programs to almost any device and allow you to workout at right home or anywhere you wish. Some top fitness provides that provide online workouts include:

TABATA

Tabata training is a high-intensity interval training (HIIT) workout, featuring exercises that last for a specific amount of time. It is a great way to get a quick workout in if you’re short on time, you need to switch up your routine, you want to improve endurance and speed or are limited on resources for equipment.

Run/Walk

Outside is always available and it’s FREE! Go for a run or a walk around your neighborhood. My neighborhood has amazing hills so if the weather is good, I take it to the pavement. There are great apps like Nike Run Club and Map My Fitness that you can use to track your route, miles, and steps.

Although workouts at home may not be ideal, it is possible. And it’s a great way to stay in shape and on track with your fitness goals.
